Mary's Meals is an international non-profit that raises money to provide children with a nutritious daily meal in their place of education. They currently serve 15 countries on 5 continents and over a million meals every day. The University of Pittsburgh Mary’s Meals chapter aims to provide a simple solution to end world hunger and promote education to help end the cycle of poverty.
This year we are hosting a number of educational and fundraising events to spread the word about Mary’s Meals. As the Pitt Chapter of Mary’s Meals, we act as a fundraising branch to support the international non-profit and sponsor a kitchen that will provide 518 school-aged children meals in Bvumo, Malawi Africa. We committed to raising $10,101 by May of 2019 to fund the school for an entire year. Our goal is to raise enough money through this campaign to fully fund our operational budget, allowing us to donate 100% of the proceeds to the Malawi school kitchen we are supporting.
Where Will Your Donation Go?
This campaign will help us to hold fundraisers and educational events for the 2018-2019 school year, and having the funds in advance will allow 100% of the profits to go to the children at Bvumo Primary School.
Our events will cost approximately $3,100, as shown in the graphic below. We need your help to reach our goal!
We believe every child deserves enough food to eat and an education and we hope that you will join us on this movement to end world hunger. For more information please check out our website at https://pittmarysmeals.weebly.com/ .
