What is EngagePitt™?
The EngagePitt™ Web site is the University of Pittsburgh’s crowdfunding platform, where donors can make online donations to special campaigns such as those of University faculty researchers or Pitt students pursing service projects and other experiential learning opportunities.
The EngagePitt™ Web site really does engage Pitt students, faculty, friends, family, and alumni by bringing them together to support small campaigns that deliver big results. Unlike other fundraising tools, The EngagePitt™ Web site also keeps supporters up to date on both fundraising progress as well as the end results of these worthy projects.
How do I make a contribution to an EngagePitt™ campaign?
Go to engage.pitt.edu. The home page lists all of Pitt's active crowdfunding campaigns. Select the campaign you want to support and click the GIVE NOW button in the upper right corner to make a secure online donation with a credit card.
You can also make your gift by mail by sending a check, made out to the University of Pittsburgh, or money order to:

Please include the name of the campaign/project on the memo line of your check.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! 100% of your gift is considered a gift to Pitt, which is a 501 (c) (3).

A tax receipt will be sent to you by mail after you have made your donation.

How can I ensure that my EngagePitt™ donation is being used appropriately?
The University of Pittsburgh’s Office of Institutional Advancement professional staff provide training and assistance to help ensure that faculty and students use funds according to donor intent.
What happens if an EngagePitt™ campaign does not reach its fundraising goal?
Faculty and students will receive any amount donated to their campaign. If the campaign goal is not met within the scheduled timeframe, contributions can still be made to the project.
What happens if a campaign exceeds its fundraising goals?
Funds raised in excess of the campaign goal can be used for operating expenses or other projects that align with the campaign’s mission.
