Pittsburgh Club Baseball 2019
Pitt Club Baseball (PCB) is a student run organization competing in Division I of the National Club Baseball Association. In both the fall and spring each year, we compete against teams from around the North Atlantic region as well teams from all over the country. Each season, we aspire to secure a North Atlantic Region Tournament berth on our way to a World Series run. Our club was North Atlantic Western Conference Champions from 2013-2017, and earned World Series appearances in 2012 & 2016. In 2018, despite staying competitive with a 10-5 conference record, we narrowly missed the regional tournament for the first time since 2011.
This fall, we reloaded our roster with some new faces to go along with plenty of familiar ones, all hungry to return to winning form. Our overall record from the Fall season sits at 7-3, with a plethora of games to be played this Spring. We are excited to be back at school and to get back to work at having a productive offseason leading up to our spring season.
As a student-run club team, we resemble a varsity program in many aspects, but there is one major difference: the club gets a limited amount of monetary support from the University. We rely on player dues and fundraisers to cover our expenses such as fields, umpires, and transportation and lodging costs when we travel to compete against other schools. As our club continues to grow and be successful, expenses increase, and there is greater need for financial support from outside sources.
