We would like to give a big thank you to everyone that supported our cause! The money we have raised is going toward the events we have been hosting throughout the city of Pittsburgh. We have completed distribution events at Crescent Early Childhood Center, Phillips Elementary School, and Bookline Elementary School. Our upcoming distributions include Woolslair Elementary School and Arsenal Elementary School. Another 2 weeks have gone by and much has happened! We delivered books and had our first literacy celebration at a preschool in the Pittsburgh neighborhood. It was a huge success, and partly because of our donors so far! Thanks for your continued support. The Panther Literacy Council is truly appreciative of the donations thus far. But we aren't done yet! Please keep sharing and getting the word out about what we are doing. We are only at 16% of our goal, and we only have 3 weeks left to reach it! Let's do it! Under the description on this page, you can also find a link to a list of suggested books to donate. Books can be new or gently used, and should be for the reading level of children from pre-K to 1st grade. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated, but we would love to receive books, as well! Thank you to all our donors for your donations thus far! We have raised $470 from some extremely generous donors, and your contributions will go a long way. But it doesn't stop there! We have about 5 weeks to go, and we're only at 9% of our $5,000 goal. Please continue to share and make a difference, and help us fulfill our goal. With this donation, we will be able to purchase construction paper in order to create literacy awareness materials for children and their families.
Holy Cow! It is raining books out here! This donation will allow us to personally deliver the books to the children by giving us the means to get to the schools, as well as bins for the books.
Nom nom nom! College students are very hungry readers and food is what helps fuel our events. Your donation will allow us to purchase food for attendees at one of our events.
This donation is wild enough for us to host another volunteer event for University of Pittsburgh students to create literacy awareness materials for children!
