Although their campaign has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to support Club Rock Climbing, you may always do so here.
We are the Pitt Club Rock Climbing Team, or PCRCT, a competitive club sport at the University of Pittsburgh and an official collegiate climbing team under USA Climbing. Our team is made up of 30 ~rockstar~ climbers who are ready to have another successful sendy competitive season.
While rock climbing may not be widely known as a sport, competitive climbing will be featured in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics! In 2018, a passionate group of students decided to bring competitive climbing to Pitt as a club team. Our goal was to introduce our community to the sport we all love and develop a team of strong, passionate climbers that compete at the collegiate level.
We have had some great success in our first year with multiple podium finishes and qualified not just for Regionals, but also in Nationals! We don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon, but we need your help in continuing this “send” train. While we have firmly established our reputation as one of the most successful sports on campus, as a second-year team, our budget is not equipped to support our upcoming spring season.
We will spend over $10,000 in facility access, equipment, and safety gear. These are all costs covered by individual team members, who are all students at the University of Pittsburgh. We have been able to make competitions free for members using allocated university funds and local fundraisers, but without your help, this will not be true for next semester.
Any donation that you can make will make a difference! Your support will help us pay for:
Competition Registration Fees
Transportation and Travel Costs
USA Climbing Membership Dues
Collegiate Climbing Regionals and Nationals
We truly appreciate your support and look forward to keeping you up to date throughout our season!

Thank you and H2P!
Chalk is used while climbing to keep our hands dry so we're able to grip holds better.
An ATC belay device allows climbers to climb tall walls safely by keeping the slack out of their rope.
USA Climbing is our sport's governing body. Your $60 gift supports the cost of a collegiate membership, which is needed to compete in Regionals and Nationals.
Climbing shoes are different than regular shoes because the rubber helps us to grip onto the walls.
Each of our members are asked to pay $160/semester for membership to our practice facility, Ascend Pittsburgh.
Your gift of $450 will support the cost to register 10 team members for a local competition!
Your donation will FULLY fund the cost of a local competition (registration, travel, lodging, etc.) for 10 team members!
