Pitt Water Polo
Although their campaign has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to Pitt Women's Club Water Polo you may always do so here.
Who are we?
Pitt Women's Club Water Polo is a team of twenty undergraduate and graduate students. We are a very close-knit team, spending plenty of time together both in and out of the pool.
Over the past few years our team has become stronger and stronger. In 2015, we were voted Pitt's Club Sports Team of the Year, and placed second in our division. We currently hold an undefeated record for our 2016 season thus far, and are ranked 10th among club teams nationally by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), and we're looking forward to where the rest of the season takes us.
Our team is lead by our fearless coach Adrienne Fyock, whose expertise and enthusiasm for water polo has grown us into the team we are today. Along with our wonderful coach, we have an amazing support system in our families and fans, who come out to cheer for us at our games and help us fuel up for the fight with delicious snacks in-between games.
Safety is an important part of any contact sport. Water polo caps are worn over silicone or latex swim caps both during practices and games. Our caps help protect us from concussions, burst ear drums, or other possible ear injuries. Our current set of practice caps are in sad shape, with most of the earguards ripped off or falling apart, defeating the safety aspect of the equipment.
One cap costs about $36 a piece for color and logo customization, and we'd like to buy 2 full sets (ex. offense/defense, home/away) to replace the ones we have that are falling apart.
In addition to raising money for safety equipment, we'd also like to be able to fundraise towards our tournament travel fees. Due to the nature of our competition season, we travel to 4-5 tournaments each year. Expenses associated with traveling to our tournaments include:
- Transportation to and from tournament locations up to 5 hours away for 20 people
- Two nights in a hotel for 20 people, per tournament
How can you help?
There are plenty of ways you can support Pitt polo! Donations, sharing our link, spreading the word, and cheering us on as we go into the rest of our season tournaments are a couple ideas of how you can help us have our best season yet. If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to email our fundraising chair, Claire Schafer, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How donating through EngagePitt works: Every donation is tax deductible (you will receive a receipt) and 100% of the proceeds go directly to Pitt polo. You can donate using one of the pre-determined levels, or choose your own amount.
