Pitt Women's Club Water Polo is a team of twenty undergraduate and graduate students. We are a very close-knit team, spending plenty of time together both in and out of the pool.
Over the past few years our team has become stronger and stronger. In 2015, we were voted Pitt's Club Sports Team of the Year, and placed second in our division. We currently hold an undefeated record for our 2016 season thus far, and are ranked 10th among club teams nationally by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA), and we're looking forward to where the rest of the season takes us.
Our team is lead by our fearless coach Adrienne Fyock, whose expertise and enthusiasm for water polo has grown us into the team we are today. Along with our wonderful coach, we have an amazing support system in our families and fans, who come out to cheer for us at our games and help us fuel up for the fight with delicious snacks in-between games.
Safety is an important part of any contact sport. Water polo caps are worn over silicone or latex swim caps both during practices and games. Our caps help protect us from concussions, burst ear drums, or other possible ear injuries. Our current set of practice caps are in sad shape, with most of the earguards ripped off or falling apart, defeating the safety aspect of the equipment.
One cap costs about $36 a piece for color and logo customization, and we'd like to buy 2 full sets (ex. offense/defense, home/away) to replace the ones we have that are falling apart.
In addition to raising money for safety equipment, we'd also like to be able to fundraise towards our tournament travel fees. Due to the nature of our competition season, we travel to 4-5 tournaments each year. Expenses associated with traveling to our tournaments include:
