Although their campaign has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to support WCE, you may always do so here.
All events for the University of Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble have been cancelled until further notice due to COVID-19 pandemic. This, unfortunately, means that the choir has made the difficult decision to cancel the tour intended for this summer. The members of the choir would have loved to attend the Festival for Women’s & Treble Voices in San Sebastian, Spain. However, it is with the safety and health of the members in mind that we have decided to cancel.
Every member of the Women’s Choral Ensemble is grateful for your donation to the WCE Goes to Spain EngagePitt Campaign. We will be applying these donations to the next tour the choir attends. The WCE hopes to sing again as soon as it is safe to do so. If you are looking for an escape during this time of uncertainty, please feel free to listen to some of the choir’s performances on the University of Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble YouTube page. Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our EngagePitt Campaign, with your help we were able to successfully reach our goal of $10,000! We are completely amazed and humbled by your contributions. You have no idea what this means to us, not only financially, but to be able to see so many people come to our aid and be willing to donate is a feeling of gratitude our choir can’t put into words.
We were able to reduce the for each person going on tour by one-third. Which means a discounted trip for our members, but also significantly reduced costs for our day to day operations. Thank you for your support!
This is the LAST DAY left in the WCE Goes to Spain EngagePitt campaign. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help fund our international tour in Spain in June 2020. We are so close to our goal and we need your help! We have raised $8,571 so far and if everyone who saw this post donated a dollar, we could reach our goal! We are so thankful for all of our donors!
This past weekend we had two successful performances! We performed Friday December 6th at the Benedum Center for the Nutcracker performance, and our Winter Concert was Saturday December 7th at Heinz Chapel. Thanks to everyone who came to support us! If you are curious about what WCE does check out our Concert Series section on our Engage page.
There’s only 25 days left in our EngagePitt campaign! The University of Pittsburgh Women’s Chorale Ensemble is an extraordinary organization that performs music while forming amazing friendships between our members. We have 8 seniors graduating this year. They will be going on to do bigger and better things, but they will always have a place in our hearts!
Our beautiful director has been directing the Women’s Chorale Ensemble for 21 years! Cheers to 21 more!
We have 42 magnificent members in WCE who all share a love of music and artistry! This semester’s choir is made up of one university staff member, a graduate musicology student, a researcher with a PhD in Physics, and 39 undergraduate students whose majors range from Biological Sciences, English Writing, Neuroscience, Nursing, Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies and so much more!
In our 92nd season, WCE continues to create a community of strong women, furthering musical excellence in the Pittsburgh community.
Hail to Pitt! Show your love for the University of Pittsburgh and the city we can all call home!
The University of Pittsburgh is 232 years old, but she doesn’t look a day over 100!
Pittsburgh is known as the city of bridges, 446 to be exact! Help us build a cross-Atlantic bridge from the Pittsburgh community internationally!
Many of our members take choir for credit. As we boost our GPAs, help boost us to our goal of $10,000!
With your donation, “Good times never felt so good!”
The University of Pittsburgh Women's Choral Ensemble was founded in 1927, but it has come a long way since then!
