The generosity of the Pitt Community is overwhelming, and we could not be prouder to call you alumni and friends of the University. 878 of you have shared of your financial resources to respond to the very real needs in the Pitt Community through the COVID-19 Response project. We already knew that we are stronger together, but each and every one of you have created an impact that is particularly evident in Pitt’s COVID-19 Response. You answered the call to assist students experiencing hardship, as well as healthcare workers and researchers working to develop vaccines and treatments that could save countless lives.

Your leadership in contributing to Doing Our Part: Pitt’s COVID-19 Response demonstrates the resilience of the Pitt Community – a resilience that has led to raising over $2 million to address immediate needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many individuals, organizations, and local foundations have contributed outside of this webpage, but much of the work started here, with you. Thank you for joining Pitt’s fight to combat COVID-19 through your generous donations to the Doing Our Part: Pitt's COVID-19 Response crowdfunding project. We are proud to say that the Student Emergency Assistance Fund has distributed over $108,644 in aid to students experiencing financial instability. Currently, many students are in need of funds to alleviate food insecurity and cost of housing due to loss of employment. Student Affairs is committed to meeting the needs of our students and has been able to respond to each application within 72 hours.

We could not be more grateful to our Pitt Community for taking the initiative to provide support in these unprecedented times. Alumni and friends continue to go above and beyond for our students, demonstrating the impact we create when we fight together.
