Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award

Although this EngagePitt™ campaign has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to the Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award you may always do so here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award will provide staff with financial resources to defray the costs of University of Pittsburgh tuition, professional conferences, workshops and training, and opportunities determined to provide direct benefit to the staff member’s career at Pitt. A contribution to the Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award can directly benefit a colleague or friend and the University of Pittsburgh staff community overall. Hail to Pitt!

Who is Ronald W. Frisch?

Ron Frisch, Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, has served as Staff Association Council advisor and mentor for 21 years, helping to promote SAC initiatives, ensure affordable benefits and positive staff policies, and advocate for a better staff experience. The Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award will honor his service and dedication to the University staff community, and reflect SAC’s continuing commitment to the staff of the University of Pittsburgh.

What will the award mean to Pitt?

Have you thought about donating to the University, only to wonder how your donation will make an impact? Is there a staff member who has made a memorable impression on you during your Pitt experience? A contribution to the Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award directly improves the University by funding a professional development award meant to enrich the University staff community.

The Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award will be available to all full-time and part-time non-union staff members, regardless of department, business unit, or campus. A more skilled, diverse, and knowledgeable staff can only serve to enhance the quality of the institution.

What is our goal?

With over 6,500 full and part time staff members at Pitt's five campuses, finding sources to defray the cost of professional development may seem challenging. The Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award will serve to defray the costs of University of Pittsburgh tuition, professional conferences, workshops and training, and opportunities determined to provide direct benefit to the staff member’s career at Pitt by providing annual monetary awards. This will not only directly benefit the staff member’s engagement at Pitt, but also enrich the University of Pittsburgh community overall.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 over the course of our campaign which will provide the foundation necessary to begin distributing awards. Our ultimate goal is to raise enough to form an endowed fund, forever cementing the dedication to staff that Ron Frisch exhibited over his 21-year career. The Ronald W. Frisch Professional Development Award will honor Ron’s legacy through its commitment to the staff experience and enrichment of the entire University of Pittsburgh community.

What is SAC?

The Staff Association Council (SAC) is a volunteer-driven organization comprised of University of Pittsburgh staff members dedicated to improving the staff experience at Pitt. SAC is committed to representing University of Pittsburgh staff through shared governance, professional development, and community service.

Hail to Pitt!
