We Did It!

January 04, 2021

We are so overwhelmed and thankful for your response to this fundraising campaign!

With your help, we surpassed our original goal and raised nearly $37,000! Your generous donations resulted in the Susan Gilbert Memorial Fund being endowed, and will begin helping GSPIA student next year. Again, thank you for making this possible.

Forever and always – Hail to Pitt!

Thank You from Dean of GSPIA. Campaign ends tomorrow!

December 10, 2020

On behalf of GSPIA, thank you for honoring Sue’s memory through the creation of the Susan Gilbert Memorial Fund.

I regret that I missed the opportunity to know and work with Sue. Her impact at Pitt is clear and through this fund will surely live on. To her family and friends, we will tell the story of Sue’s commitment to lifelong learning and her courage while facing a difficult battle. We’re so proud to call her an MPPM alumna.

We will share the stories of the students impacted by the generosity of all of you – Sue’s family, friends, and colleagues.

1 week left, less than $15,000 needed

December 04, 2020

This is a friendly reminder that our campaign ends next Friday!

Sue Gilbert wasn't just the assistant treasurer but was a Pitt Panther through and through, so THANK YOU for being part of this incredible community that has raised monies for the Fund in her name.

Over the next week, we ask you to share Sue's story by forwarding this email to people you know as we try to cross the $50,000 mark. Here's a recent article about our efforts you may like to post on your social media: https://www.utimes.pitt.edu/news/new-memorial-fund-will

Thank you so very much, and H2P!

A Special Thanks(for)giving Message

November 24, 2020

So far, we’ve been able to raise over $34,000 towards endowing a fund in Sue’s memory. This wouldn’t have been possible without your support, so from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

As we enter the holiday season, we ask that you continue to share Sue’s story as we work towards our goal of creating a $50,000 fund in her name. This everlasting fund will be an extension of Sue’s love that shined bright on every person she met. The Susan Gilbert Memorial Fund will give future GSPIA students peace of mind and financial relief, ensuring they can thrive during their time in the classroom and beyond.

May peace be with you, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thank you - we are off to a great start!

October 29, 2020

Thanks to your generosity, we have reached our initial goal of $25,000.00 in the first week of our campaign! The outpouring of support for Sue’s Fund is indicative of the impact she had on so many people, both in her personal and professional life. With over a month remaining in the campaign, we are pleased to increase our goal for this effort to $50,000.00 and hope that you'll continue to share with others that knew her. We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to honor Sue’s memory with a Fund that has the greatest possible impact on students in the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs.
