Thank you so much for making our first ever virtual drive an amazing success! We cannot thank you enough for your generous support toward the Birmingham Free Clinic and the Women’s Clinic. We couldn’t have done it without the generosity of donors like you! Our patient population has been greatly affected by these difficult times, and we have been working really hard to keep the doors of our Clinics open. Your contributions will go towards essential clinic resources, multiple programs and specialty clinics for our under and uninsured patient population. Again, thank you so much for donating to such an important cause and helping us provide the best care we can to our Birmingham and Women’s Clinics’ patients!
Thank you so much for your continued support of the Birmingham Free Clinic and the Women’s Clinic. Thanks to many generous contributions between the raffle, auction, EngagePitt, and Morcilla meal kits we have been able to raise over $23,000 during the 2020-2021 academic year so far! This is the first year we held our fundraisers completely virtually, and it was made possible because of your generosity!
That money is going directly to providing things like vaccines, lab tests, smoking cessation programs, pharmaceuticals, and more for our under and uninsured patients. We couldn’t continue to provide high quality patient care without the generosity of donors like you, and we really appreciate it!
Due to the success of our recent Raffle and Auction event, we will be raising our EngagePitt goal again to $21,000! We will still be collecting funds through March 5th. Please spread the word because every additional increment we raise will go a long way to helping our patients!

None of what we do would be possible without the generosity of our donors. Donations are especially valuable because our program is not eligible for any federal funding. Nearly all of our direct patient care expenses are supported through donations and local small grants. That’s why we are updating you all about the launch of the annual raffle and auction fundraiser to benefit the Birmingham and Women’s clinics!
We have strived to create lots of options so everyone, including faculty, students, and families, are able to participate! I encourage you to check out our raffle offerings including gift cards, subscription/membership services, baked goods from budding medical student bakers, and even an $800 Sephora gift basket! Our raffle and auction will run until February 14, so there is plenty of time to participate.
If you’re looking for the perfect pre-Valentine’s date night idea, look no further than our Morcilla meal kits where you can get a pre-prepared basket of ingredients along with an exclusive virtual cooking lesson from a professional chef! These meal kits are available to order until February 4th. Be aware, that there are now a very limited number of meal kits available, so if you are interested – do not hesitate!

We are so grateful for everyone that helped the Birmingham Free Clinic and Women's Center Clinic reach our initial goal of $6,000 in just our first week! Because of you, we at the clinic will be able to continue to treat our patients regardless of income, insurance, and documentation status. Essential supplies like gloves, thermometer covers, tongue depressors, exam table paper are used in every patient visit. Help keep these small but essential supplies stocked in our patient exam rooms.
Volunteers help facilitate routine care: glucose monitoring is an essential part of diabetic care that can make a big difference in a patient’s health!
Phone-based medical interpretation services can cost up to $3.00 a minute! Our student volunteers from SALUD support our LatinX patient populations through their generous donation of time and Spanish language skills! Match their contribution by donating the cost of 2.75 hours of a Spanish Interpretation Service.
Twelve medical student volunteers contribute a combined 200 hours of volunteer time a month at the Women’s Center Clinic. Donate $5 for each hour spent serving women recovering from intimate partner violence.
Our volunteers obtain necessary skills as future Pitt professionals through on-site training - but they need updated exam rooms and a fully stocked pharmacy to do so. You can continue to support their education by making a generous donation of $2,000!
