Pitt Men's Club Lacrosse 2022-2023

Our Team

The Pitt Panthers Men’s Lacrosse team is coming off a successful 2021-2022 season that included an appearance in the ALC conference tournament. The team has a strong incoming class of 21 rookies who will be able to make major contributions to the team this year and in the future. The 2022-2023 season looks bright for the Panthers, as they have an entirely new coaching staff. The team’s head coach is one of Pitt Lacrosse’s own Michael Eck. He will be joined by the team's assistant coach, Tim Schreiber. We would also like to welcome two other former Pitt Lacrosse players that will be joining the coaching staff: Zach Romac joins the team as its offense coordinator and Tyler Tracy as the defensive assistant coach. The 2022-2023 fall slate will include a scrimmage against Penn State Club Lacrosse and Temple Club Lacrosse in late October.

About our Project

Being a part of the MCLA and the ALC conference is a very expensive endeavor. We play anywhere from 12-18 games each spring, about half of which require us to take long road trips. Being a club sports team, we do not receive athletic funding from the University of Pittsburgh, and therefore need to cover most of the costs that come with competing in this league. Some of these costs include field time, shot clocks, apparel, equipment, buses/hotel rooms for 3-5 trips during the spring, and many more.

Without the support of our loyal fanbase and Pitt community, we are incapable of covering the costs listed previously on our own. We sincerely appreciate any donation that you are willing to give, which will go toward any of the costs detailed, or if we surpass our goal, to general operating expenses. 100% of the donations go to our team and all donations are tax-deductible.

Where Your Donation Goes

1. Regular season road-trips (Georgia, Virginia, Ohio)
   • Our regular season will include at least 3 road trips, which will include a trip to Ohio on February 24-25 to play the University of Miami (Ohio) and Western Michigan University, a trip to Georgia to play the University of Georgia and Florida State University, and a trip April 1-2 to Virginia to play James Madison University and East Carolina University. 
   • Costs for these three trips combined will be $25,000 for the buses, hotels, food, etc.
2. ALC Conference Tournament (Location and dates TBD)
   
   • One of our goals as a team is to return to the ALC conference tournament this year after making it to the semi-finals last year. This tournament will likely take place in late April in Lynchburg, Virginia.
   • Costs for this road trip will be $9,000 which accounts for a bus, 1-2 nights in a hotel, food, etc.
3. MCLA National Championship (Dates TBD; Round Rock, Texas)
   
   • Another goal of ours is to compete for a national championship. This event consists of the best 16 teams in the country who compete in a single elimination tournament.
   • Costs TBD: However, the costs we would have to cover would include round trip plane tickets for about 35 players and coaches, ground transportation in Round Rock, 3-5 nights in a hotel, food, etc.
