On behalf of the VPs of Finance, the Leadership Team, and the entirety of Phi Beta Lambda, I would like to thank all of those who contributed to our 2022 Fundraiser. With your generosity, we will be able to pursue many of our goals for the future of our organization. In the coming semester, we plan to add impactful new components to our PBL Conference (PBLC). Hosted every spring, we invite local high schoolers to engage in a day-long conference that informs and directs them in conversations about networking and interviewing skills, resume building, and possible fields of study in the business school. We plan to add a PBLC mentor program that pairs upperclassmen in high school with members of PBL who are passionate about offering their skills and advice to upcoming business leaders. Additionally, we hope to incorporate information about financial literacy for the students. We are passionate about the need for young adults to be provided with the skills and knowledge necessary to make conscious and informed decisions about their financial futures. By providing them with basic skills and habits to develop good credit, we hope to take a positive step in helping them to invest in their futures.

A long term effect of your generosity is our re-engagement with the CEOLI project. Before the Covid-19 epidemic, PBL hosted an organization-specific study abroad trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia. There, we worked with a nonprofit organization called CEOLI, that works to provide schooling and resources to children with special needs in Bolivia. Currently, we support CEOLI through an annual fundraiser but we hope to engage with Pitt’s Study Abroad office to redevelop our program.
