Who We Are
The Women's Club Basketball team is composed of dedicated student-athletes who prioritize communication and positive team dynamics. This season, we joined the National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA) and are official members of the Great Lakes - East Conference. We're ecstatic about our upcoming schedule where we will be playing Ohio University, Ohio State, West Virginia University, and Dayton University over the course of the 2023-24 season. At the beginning of the semester, our team set our sights on one collective goal: earn a ticket to Nationals. Based on our performance, we may have the opportunity to travel to represent Pitt at the Collegiate Nationals at the end of the season to compete with the best of the best. We need your help to make this goal a reality.
Our Project
Reviving the club after the COVID-19 pandemic took commitment and effort from each and every one of our members. We've persevered through hardships in order to raise our club to a competitive league. We look forward to continuing the program's momentum by returning to Pitt with wins under our belt.
Your donations will go towards various essential costs such as NCBBA league registration fees, gas refunds, lodging, and new equipment, ensuring that our players have the necessary resources to compete at their best. Additionally, we want to guarantee that all students can play the sport they love so dearly, regardless of socioeconomic status, and your donation will help do so. In the event that we surpass our goal, the additional funds will be directed towards general operating expenses to sustain the overall well-being of our basketball program.
It's important to note that 100% of the donations received through this platform go directly to our team. Additionally, all donations are tax deductible, and you will receive a tax receipt from Pitt via email upon submission of your donation.
How You Can Help
As a student-run organization, it falls on us to generate the necessary funds to sustain our club's operations. Throughout the year, we engage in various fundraising activities such as bake sales, restaurant fundraisers, and our beloved 3v3 Tournaments. These efforts are crucial in ensuring the continuity of the club that holds such a special place in all our hearts.
Since our establishment, we've been fortunate to garner considerable support. We now look to you to help us continue the legacy of Club Basketball at the University of Pittsburgh. With your assistance, we are confident that we can reach our $2,500 goal. Assists are a form of teamwork. Let's collaborate, uplift, and assist each other. This donation helps fill up cars with gas on the way to our tournaments.
Offensive rebounds are the key to success in basketball. This showcases dominance versus the competition. A donation of $50 will cover the cost of new equipment such as basketballs and pinnies.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. With that said, $75 can be used to buy one player a new uniform.
3 pointers allow us to win games by larger numbers. Our shooting guards work tirelessly to find the open slots to fire from the 3-point line. Your donation will cover the cost of a hotel room for one night at away tournaments.
Half-court shots are rare but special. As we're halfway through our season, we take pride in the special moments we share together as a team. Your donation of $250 will cover 1/4 of the cost of our NCBBA league registration fee.
Buzzer beaters are extraordinary and make a team immediately victorious. The euphoric moment of a buzzer beater provides enough serotonin to last a lifetime. $500 will pay for the team to travel outside of our regularly scheduled conference games to play a new college in a vibrant city.
MVPs are recognized for their sportsmanship, leadership, and exceptional talent. A donation of this size seems like a fortune to a club like ours, but would pay for two flights for cross country tournaments or an entire team hotel stay.
