Although this project has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to support Pitt's Engineers Without Borders, you may always do so here.
We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to each and every one of our donors, who helped us almost double our original crowdfunding goal and reach a record high total of $12,150! We cannot express enough how grateful we and our communities in Bolivia and Ecuador are for your support.
Here is some information about what we will be doing from now until the end of the summer:
The Ecuador team has finalized their travel dates and are working through the remaining paperwork leading up to their first implementation trip, which will happen this August. The Bolivia team will remotely implement their final five latrines later this fall, and plans to travel in summer 2025 to monitor the project’s success.
As for our upcoming fundraising plans, for the next few weeks we will continue developing our relationship with local businesses and potential sponsors, with the hope that we can get some larger annual donations in the years to come. Over the summer, we will be taking a well deserved break, but in the fall we will resume with canning and other Pittsburgh-wide fundraising events!
Keep an eye on our social media for future updates about our projects and all other happenings in the club!

Once again, we are tremendously thankful to all of our generous donors! Without all of you, none of what we do would be possible.
Thank you to our donors, who have helped us raise $9,160 three quarters of the way through our campaign! Due to your incredible support, we believe that $10,000 is within reach over the next 14 days left in the campaign!
Both the Bolivia and Ecuador teams have continued to work on the same material since the start of the semester. Therefore, we would like to update everyone on some of the events we plan on running soon!
With March Madness now here, we are running another Tournament Challenge Group! Starting on March 17th until 12:00 PM on March 21st, anyone can submit their March Madness Bracket following the instructions through this link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScSvt_5JDXGParzFaEbnAyigYOuPqKyTsmrUIXZBsI5roc4Ig/viewform).
Anyone is allowed to join for $5 per bracket, with prizes given to the top three brackets.
We are also running two more events on-campus, that we have successfully run in the past. The first is our Pie Day Event on March 20th, where members of the club will be pied in the face by their friends. The second event is our Chicken Nugget Sale, where we will be selling snack foods to students.
Once again, we are tremendously thankful to all of our generous donors! Without all of you, none of what we do would be possible.
Thank you to our donors, who have helped us raise $8,703 halfway through our campaign, well surpassing our original goal! Due to your incredible support we have raised the goal TWICE since our last post, and we believe that this new goal will be quickly reached and need to be raised once again!
SInce the last time we sent out an update to you, we have been continuing to work hard on both the Bolivia and Ecuador projects. The work we are doing now will help us implement the projects, educate the communities on how to maintain the new infrastructure, and educate the communities on the importance of public health.
As you may know, we are planning to finish the implementation phase and go to the monitoring phase of the Bolivia project in Carijana this summer. Due to this, we have decided to partner with a new community in Bolivia, which will allow us to easily transition into a new project.
Once again, we would like to thank you for your tremendous support, as our projects are only possible due to your generous personal donations.
Thank you to our donors, who have shown us so much support and contributed to our annual crowdfunding campaign! As of writing this, we are sitting at $3,992, well over half of our fundraising goal, and we could not be more appreciative of our generous donors!
To kick off our crowdfunding campaign, we held our Frosty Festival for the first time ever on February 5th, which was a huge success! It was an event filled with games that allowed club and community members to donate and buy raffle tickets in exchange for prizes. We also premiered a short documentary filmed by Claire Gendron, our current VP, during last summer’s implementation trip in Bolivia. This documentary, which you can find linked below, won second place in a national EWB contest!
Since the start of this semester, both the Bolivia and Ecuador teams have been hard at work preparing all materials for the upcoming trips.
Once again, we would like to thank all of our donors for their incredible support during the first quarter of the campaign!
Since the start of the Bolivia project, 50 latrines have been constructed!
