Pitt-Greensburg Habitat for Humanity Spring Break 2024

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, 20 Pitt-Greensburg students, alumni, and staff members will load up into two vans and drive to Georgetown, South Carolina for this year’s alternative spring break trip. It will be the 19th consecutive year that Pitt-Greensburg students will travel south to help build homes with Habitat for Humanity.

We will be working with the Habitat for Humanity Georgetown affiliate. This affiliate was established after Hurricane Hugo hit in 1991. It is approximately 50 minutes from Myrtle Beach.

We will spend our week building decent, affordable housing with this local affiliate. Sunday we will spend the day on an excursion around the area. Monday through Friday we will spend 6-8 hours per day working on various jobsites with the local affiliate and other collegiate chapters. We will be doing a variety of tasks throughout the week.

Our group of 20 volunteers will provide 700-800 hours of service while in South Carolina.

Where will your donation go?

There are many expenses that our group will incur on the trip. They include:

  • Daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for 20 people x 8 days
  • Van rentals and gas for the 1,308-mile round trip and transportation to and from the work site each day
  • Program fees
  • Lodging
  • Work site supplies, such as gloves, etc.

Who is going on this year’s trip?
