Field Hockey Club at the University of Pittsburgh

Our Team

The Field Hockey Club at the University of Pittsburgh is a competitive sports team that travels around the east coast to play against other collegiate teams. Our team in comprised of undergraduate students with a variety of majors and career goals. We pride ourselves on having team spirit and being like a family. This team is full of amazing women who are all passionate about field hockey. Not only is this a team with incredible skill, it is also a place where lifelong friendships are forged.

Our team plays in both the fall and spring semesters. We have recently competed in the National Club Field Hockey Tournament in Virginia Beach. We also travel across the state and to surrounding states such as West Virginia and Delaware. We would like to be able to continue to travel to and host more tournaments!

Our Project

As a fully student-run club, we rely heavily on player dues and fundraising to cover expenses that allow the team to work. These include tournament fees, referee pay, travel fees, and equipment. We would love to be able to bring our entire team to away tournaments and Nationals, but travel expenses increase. Our team has been around for many years and our equipment has never been updated. Currently our goal cages are broken which makes practice tricky. Due to these expenses, we need greater financial support from outside sources. The National tournament takes place each semester in Virginia Beach, and we would love to be able for all of our team to be able to participate. Most of our funds go towards travel and lodging accommodations for the tournament. It leaves us with very little left over for our other expenses. We would greatly appreciate any donations and all the support that is given to us!

There are multiple ways to help our team reach our goal. One way is to donate! 100% of the donations goes directly to the Field Hockey Club. You can either donate using one of the predetermined amounts on the right side of the page, or you can choose your own amount via the “Give Now” button at the top of the page. Donations of any size with be incredibly helpful and very much appreciated! You can also show support by spreading the word about our project to your friend and family! Finally, following along with us is a great way to keep up to date with our team and support our cause! We post updates on the tournaments we attend and the National Tournament each semester. There will also be updated posted on this website under the “Updates” tab, showing where the donations are going and how our team is doing throughout the season.
