Thank you so much for spreading the word about Read for the Record and your generous donations. A special thanks to the Pitt Pathfinders for their generous contribution of $2,400! We reached our goal and your donations will allow us to enter 50+ classrooms to hold literacy celebrations around the Pittsburgh area that will reach 2,000 children!
Each child will receive a book and literacy activity packet, which we are busy making right now! We are also currently meeting with our partners to plan for the day. With just about 3 weeks until October 27th, we are busy looking for volunteers to celebrate with us.
Visit volunteer.pitt.edu and search for "Read for the Record" then select "Read for the Record Guest Reader" to sign up and participate in the world's largest shared reading experience.

We are just over 1 month away from our big day, so the countdown is on. In 35 days, we will be celebrating literacy by entering over 50 classrooms and reading with the children. We have already held a materials creation with student volunteers, and we already have students signing up to participate on the day of the event!
We currently are only just above 10% of our goal of $3,000. While we appreciate the support thus far, we have lots of work to do! SPREAD THE WORD AND SHARE OUR PAGE! We really want to reach our goal so that we can make Read for the Record the best experience for all the children we are serving.
We already have partners that have joined onboard to celebrate Read for the Record. Carnegie Library, Reading is Fundamental, Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC), and Foster Grandparents will be reading The Bear Ate Your Sandwich with us on October 27th! We can't wait!
