Thank you from the Alt Break Team!

January 24, 2017

The Alternative Break program is trying to build on the rich tradition of service at Pitt and create new opportunities for students to take part in service learning.  Your generous donation through EngagePitt is going towards the students dedicated to fostering relationships with new communities and extending the reach of the University of Pittsburgh.  This year we are sending students to Quito, Ecuador where we hope to create lasting ties with United Planet and the community of Quito. Additionally, we hope to foster a sense of responsible global service within the Pitt community.  We are also working with existing and new community partners to provide local and national trips that expose students to issues present within their communities and steps they can take to get involved. These opportunities are going to be possible because of your support of the Alternative Break program on EngagePitt.

Thank you!

We are so close!

December 17, 2016

Thank you everyone for supporting the Alternative Break program! Your donations will help us in aiding communities, locally and abroad, and give us the chance to represent Pitt across the country. With two more weeks and over 70% of our goal met, we only need one more push to reach $3000! Please help us reaching our goal by sharing our campaign link and telling friends and family to donate to our program. From everyone on the Alt Break team, thank you and hail to Pitt!

Halfway there!

December 11, 2016

Thank you for your continued support of the Alternative Break program. With your help, we will be able to support our students who are passionate, dedicated and ready to make a difference. From Pittsburgh, to the Cumberland trail, from our Nation's capital, to the international trip in Ecuador, our students will spend their spring breaks giving back. Please help us reach our goal by donating, sharing our link and telling your friends and family about the program. We are all so grateful for your support.

Thank you,

Amy

We are a third of the way there!

December 09, 2016

We could not be more grateful for your donations. You are helping our Pittsburgh community grow stronger through service, as well as communities nationally and internationally. Pitt students have been traveling all over the country to actively participate in service through the Alternative Break program, and will now be doing so across the world!

Each donation brings us one step closer to sending someone to help the homeless community, clear the Cumberland Trail, or even assist in Quito! Thank you again for helping us come this far in reaching our first milestone! By spreading the word about our fundraiser, you will extend your generosity even more in helping us reach our final goal!

Thank you, Katie S.

Thank you for helping us get to 10% of our goal!

November 30, 2016

We have surpassed the 10% mark for our goal and it all because of you - thank you very much! Every donation that we receive will be making a big difference for the many participants in this spring’s alternative break. As Pitt students, we recognized the importance of serving our community and the contributions that we receive is getting us closer to being able to continue to give back even more to our local, national, and international community. While we have reached our first milestone, there are still many more leading up to our end goal. You can continue to help us get even closer to that goal by sharing this fundraiser with your connections!   Thanks,   Jahvon D.
