Dear Family, Friends, and Alumni,
Since its inception in 1968, the Black Action Society (BAS) has been proudly serving the Black population of the University of Pittsburgh and our surrounding community. BAS is committed to promoting the interests of Black and minority students in the area. It has been an honor to serve the Pitt community and we look forward to continuing our proud tradition in the years to come. The Pitt Engage fundraiser is only one avenue by which we build the prosperity of BAS so that it remains the pillar in the greater Univesity of Pittsburgh experience.
These last few weeks, we held our annual Pitt Engage fundraiser, a series of events that allow us to show the community at large some of the work we do while raising money to ensure its continuation. With your help, we continue to be able to produce amazing events like the Black Prestige Gala, a formal, festive celebration of the successes of black and minority students. The Black Action Society would like to extend our utmost gratitude for your donations and support throughout this fundraising season.
Although our fundraiser has come to an end, your ability to support BAS is not limited to a particular month or season, we welcome your year-round contributions and encourage you to remember BAS far after you’ve read this update.
We are incredibly grateful for all the support we have received since our inception and hope that you will continue to support the legacy of the Black Action Society.
