Support HPM Student Professional Development

The University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health strives to empower the future of public health and the next generation of public health leaders. 

The Health Policy Management Alumni Association (HPM Alumni Association) is an alumni group dedicated to keeping the more than 1,700 HPM alumni informed about the program and school alike. The HPMAA is asking you to make a gift that will help foster the student experience by providing students the opportunity to attend professional meetings with various national organizations like ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) or Academy Health. At these conferences, the students have the chance to network with future employers on a one-on-one basis, connect with Pitt Public Health alumni, attend numerous workshops showcasing all that their MHA or MPH program has to offer, and delve deeper into the world of public health in general. 

Every spring, the department encourages students to attend the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) annual Congress. In 2023, 19 students took the trip to Chicago. The number rose in 2024 with a record 33 students, both first and second years making the trip. 

As one MHA candidate shared, "My favorite memory was traveling to Chicago with my cohort to attend the ACHE conference. It was a rewarding experience to meet students and healthcare executives from across the country. It was also a blast exploring what Chicago has to offer." 

While we were able to send 33 students to ACHE last year, we would love the opportunity to send more students next year. In Spring 2025, the ACHE Congress will take place from March 24-27 in Houston for the first time! Donors like you can help send students to this amazing experience!

We have set our goal to raise $2,500 to help fund students to attend the healthcare conference of their choice or seek other professional development opportunities.
