Glee’s Overseas: The Pitt Men’s Glee Club Goes International

Who We Are:

Since 1890, the Pitt Men's Glee Club has been spreading joyous music to both the University of Pittsburgh and audiences elsewhere. We have had a strong tradition of musical excellence which includes the opportunity to travel the world and present music to more diverse audiences and cultures.

Our Project:

From May 5th to May 17th, 2025, the Pitt Men's Glee Club and its members will be once again renewing their favored tradition of touring by traveling all the way to a select group of European countries including Italy, Austria, and Slovenia, providing music and entertainment for global audiences in places like:

  • Bolzano, Italy
  • Salzburg, Austria
  • Klagenfurt, Austria
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia
  • Trieste, Italy

This trip, exciting as it will be, does not come to our members free of charge. This grand achievement requires expenses such as airfare, lodging and meals, to name a few, which naturally come alongside travel. For example, airfare alone will cost each member more than $1,000 per person. Therefore, we rely on generous supporters like you that help make the funding of these particular tours possible. By donating to this EngagePitt campaign, you will be helping reduce the cost of this tour for our devoted members and sending us off on our way to create beautiful music that the Pitt Men's Glee Club is known for.

Thank you for your support!

Meet another one of our Project Owners:

Jacob Shinder, Campaign Member (jas834@pitt.edu)

Fun Fact: Jacob was a professional child actor and did two Adam Sandler movies!

Jacob Shinder is a religious studies and vocal music performance double major in his third year. He aspires to become a cantor in the Jewish tradition. Aside from his time in glee, he plays trumpet in the marching band and leads Shabbat servies for the Hillel organization. Outside of his music involvements at Pitt, he often performs at open mics and retirement homes.
