Men's Club Lacrosse at Pitt 2024-2025

Our Team

The Pitt Club Men's Lacrosse team is coming into the 2024-2025 season with big expectations. The team has a great mixture of youth and experience. The 2024-2025 season looks bright for the Panthers as they look to head back to the Atlantic Lacrosse Conference (ALC) playoffs and defend the Battle of I-76 Trophy.

Mike Eck will be returning for his third season as Pitt's head coach. He'll be aided by last year's assistant, Chris Treat, returning as defensive coordinator, and first-year assistant, Shane Sweigart. This staff has high hopes for the Panthers to be able to compete with anyone in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA). 

Our Project

Being a part of the MCLA and the ALC conference is a very expensive endeavor. We will play 14 games this spring, along with three long road trips. Being a club sports team, we do not receive athletic funding from the University of Pittsburgh, and therefore need to cover most of the costs that come with competing in this league. Some of these costs include field time, referees, equipment, buses, hotel rooms, and much more. 

Without the support of our loyal alumni, fanbase, and the Pitt community, we are incapable of covering the costs listed above on our own. We sincerely appreciate any donation that you are willing to give, which will go towards any of the costs detailed, or if we surpass our goal, to general operating expenses. 100% of the donations received through this platform go to our team. All donations are tax-deductible, with you receiving a tax receipt from Pitt via email upon donation submission. Even if you are unable to donate at this time, sharing our fundraising page with your friends, family, or social media is an immediate way to show your support. 

Where Your Donation Goes

1. Regular Season Road Trips (Indiana, Virginia, Boston)

• Our regular season will include three road trips, starting with a trip to Bloomington, Indiana on February 22nd to play Indiana and Purdue. On March 14th, we will take a trip to Harrisonburg, Virginia, to play conference rivals James Madison, along with Kentucky. Our last trip will be on April 4th to Boston, where we will play BostonU and Northeastern. 
• Costs of these trips combined will be $25,000 for the buses, hotels, food, etc.

2. ALC Conference Tournament (Lynchburg, VA)

• One of our biggest goals as a team is to return to the ALC conference tournament this year after making it to the semi-finals in 2022. This tournament will take place on April 26th and 27th in Lynchburg, Virginia. 
• Costs for this trip will be $9,000 for a bus, 1-2 nights in a hotel, food, etc.

3. MCLA National Championship (Round Rock, Texas)

• Another goal of ours is to compete for an MCLA National Championship. This event consists of the best 16 teams in the country and is a single-elimination tournament that takes place from May 5th to May 10th. 
• Costs for this trip would include round trip plane tickets for about 35 players and coaches, 3-5 nights in a hotel, food, etc.
