Jennifer Deussing Comerci - A life of Love, Dedication, Adventure and Perserverance

Jennifer Comerci, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family in her hometown of Wynnewood, PA. Jennifer's generous heart impacted many lives, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Jennifer was the devoted wife of Thomas Comerci and the lovingly attentive mother of triplets Carina, Giacomo, and Giovanni. Her family was her world, and she filled their lives with unconditional love and joy.

Jennifer’s academic journey was marked by determination and a passion for helping others. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and went on to obtain her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2018 she set her mind to becoming a nurse, a profession she greatly admired, and began her studies. Through hard work and perseverance, while simultaneously raising her three beautiful children, Jennifer earned her RN degree from Delaware Community College in May of 2021 and passed her board exams the following November.

Her professional career at Jefferson Hospital and Children's Hospital stood as a testament to her dedication to improving the lives of others through compassionate care. All along this journey, true to her nature, she forged deep friendships with her classmates and coworkers. Anyone who knew her felt like they were family. Having earned her RN, Jennifer worked beside her husband Tom to build a medical practice serving, with deep compassion, those striving to overcome addiction.

An adventurer at heart, Jennifer’s love for travel took her across the globe, from the historic streets of England to an African safari and the sun-kissed shores of Panama and Italy. Her friends speak of her love of spontaneous road trips, and the fun had along the way. However, Mantoloking Beach, New Jersey, held a special place in Jen’s heart and she very much cherished the time she spent there with her family and friends. These travels were more than just trips; they were journeys that enriched her soul and inspired her to embrace each moment with gratitude and love.

Jennifer leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and determination that will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, Tom and her children, Carina, Giacomo, and Giovanni. Jennifer loved her children with her whole heart. Many who knew her commented on the grace and good humor with which she navigated raising triplets. This was certainly true, but those traits belied the strength and fierce protectiveness she held for them. They were always first and foremost in her mind and heart. That she could raise such amazing children, all the while meeting her personal and professional goals, is simply more evidence of what a wonderful person she was.

Jennifer’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness, dedication, humor and adventure. One of her most notable traits was her wonderful laughter. It could light up any room she was in, and if you were the lucky person to have elicited the laughter, you felt as if you had won the lottery.

Please consider making a gift in support of a naming opportunity within Heinz Chapel or in the Heinz Chapel garden in memory of Jennifer. Depending on the total funds raised, Jennifer’s name will be honored on a pew inside the chapel or on a paver or bench in the garden. Our fundraising goal is $5,000. Any contributions exceeding this amount will either be applied toward the next available naming level or directed to the Heinz Chapel Endowment Fund in Jennifer’s name.
