Dear Donors,

We cannot thank you all enough for helping us reach and exceed our goal! We are humbled and amazed by your generosity. Through our EngagePitt campaign, we raised $2,310, and through a letter writing campaign and registration fees, our net profit (after buying supplies for the 5K) was $5,737! The profits will support our chapter of Strong Women, Strong Girls for the upcoming year in order to provide transportation for our mentors as well as supplies, snacks, and anything other necessities for our mentees.

Our 4th annual 5K, held on Sunday, April 23rd, was an incredible success! The weather was sunny and warm, perfect for a 5K. We had 79 registered runners and walkers, and some of the girls we mentor participated in each event. We truly couldn’t have been as successful without your help!

Thank you so much for your donations! Because of your generous donations and dedications to the Strong Women, Strong girls campaign, we will be able to put on a successful and fun 5K as well as providing more opportunities for girls in Pittsburgh!

So what happens to the extra money we raise? Any extra money that we raise will be used for transportation fees, supplies and general club fees. The money will help girls around Pittsburgh improve their self-esteem and self-confidence.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your donations. 

78%! Wow! With your donations and dedication, we have reached 78% of our goal for providing opportunities to girls all around Pittsburgh. We are 78% stronger but 100% more dedicated in keeping up all our work with helping girls realize their potential.

So why do we mentor? Girls around the city are not given the same opportunities that most of us have been privileged to have most of our lives. They are not told that if they try hard, they can strive for greatness and break the barriers that prevent them from achieving greatness. We do it because we see the potential in each of the young girls we mentor. We believe that they will be able to become stronger women who can in turn help others. 

Your donations help us raise funds to provide resources for these young girls. From having supplies to bringing the girls to the University of Pittsburgh so they know what their future can hold, each cent helps make a difference.

Thank you all so much for your generous donations to the Pitt Strong Women, Strong Girls 5K. Your donation will help us not only put on a fun, exciting 5K, but also provide a strong foundation for next year's mentoring activities. 

One of the best parts about being a mentor in Strong Women, Strong Girls is connecting with our mentees. After spending a semester (or more) with a group of girls, we are all friends. We laugh, we cry, we have fun, and most importantly, we have meaningful conversations. In order to get to this point with a group of girls, it is imperative that we have enough funds for necessities such as transportation to get us to mentoring on time and quality school supplies so girls are able to do fun activities during mentoring! Putting on this 5K will help us raise money for those essentials.

Every dollar brings us closer to having a greater impact on the community and being the best possible chapter of Strong Women, Strong Girls. Thank you!

Hi everyone!! I hope that this post finds you well! Firstly, we want to thank you for your interest in Strong Women, Strong Girls, we really appreciate the support!! Since it has been a week since the launch of our page, we wanted to give you a few updates.

WOW!! We have already raised $1,171, 50% of our goal!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of our Donors!!! Your donations have helped us to come that much closer to hosting our 5K, which is helping us to provide quality mentoring to the young girls in Pittsburgh! So far, your donations have been able to provide us with all of the costs for the safety of our race!

To those of you who are looking to donate, but haven’t had the chance yet, don’t worry, there is still time! The page will close on April 19th, so be the early bird and help us reach our goal that much sooner! Any donations that go above the goal will be used towards furthering the development of our strong girls!
