Pitt Men's Lacrosse 2017
Although their campaign has concluded, if you would still like to make a donation to support the Pitt Men's Lacrosse Team, you may always do so here.
The Pitt Men's Lacrosse Team has very high aspirations for our 2016-2017 season following an extremely successful fall campaign. Our team has reloaded with a sensational group of freshmen that build upon a strong foundation of returners.
For more information please check out our website: http://mcla.us/team/pittsburgh/2017/schedule.html
As members of a large regionally-based conference, the CCLA, and an even larger national organization, the MCLA, we travel to different tournaments throughout the spring season to compete against top-tier schools where varsity lacrosse does not exist.
Since we are a club team, we do not receive Athletic funding from the University of Pittsburgh. Instead, we work extremely hard to offset the costs of our season through player dues, working Landmark Security Events, and canning at Steelers games. That being said, athletic programs are expensive and we struggle to make ends meet. This is why we need your help and support!
Without your support we will not be able to attend these necessary tournaments and attain the goals set forth for our program. Below you will find more information on the five tournaments we hope to fund through the proceeds from this campaign. Please note that 100% of all donations will go to our team, and all donations are tax deductible. Donors will receive a tax receipt in the mail from Pitt.
Any amount raised above our goal will be allocated to our general season expenses.
Thank you for your support and H2P!
Where Your Donation Goes:
1. Road Games against Michigan State and Davenport- March 18th-19th
For the second time this season the Pitt Men’s team will be traveling to the Great Lake State!
2. Battle of Baltimore- March 31st-April 2nd in Owings Mills, Maryland
We will be playing three games against out of conference opponents South Carolina, NC State, and Northeastern at the Northwest Regional Park in Baltimore, Maryland. This is an official MCLA registered tournament.
Bussing expenses and two nights in a hotel for 40 student athletes
Tournament entry fee, field booking and referee expenses
3. Road Non-Conference Games- April 21st-22nd in Buffalo, NY
Our team will make the three and a half hour trip to Buffalo, New York to take on the University of Buffalo and The University of New Hampshire the following day.
4. CCLA Tournament- April 29th-30th in Ann Arbour, Michigan
This is a tournament we have to qualify for, but historically we always have since the inception of the CCLA Conference. For 2016-2017 the tournament is moving to Michigan, marking the team's third trip to the state.
5. National Tournament- May 8th-13th in Orange County, California
There are two ways to qualify for the National Tournament. Win the CCLA tournament or receive an at large-bid by performing well during the regular season. The event is sponsored by Under Armour and consists of the top sixteen teams in the country. For the 2016-2017 season, we plan to be the 2nd Pitt Men’s team ever to qualify for the National Tournament with the goal of being the first to be National Champions.
