Thank You and Happy Holidays!

January 02, 2019

Our project is now closed, and we’d like to give a big thank you to everyone who donated to our EngagePitt campaign and helped us raise a whopping $3,516 for our team! This more than doubled our existing budget and will allow us to continue our success through to the spring semester! As a new sport we don’t have an alumni base to reach out to, so we are so incredibly thankful for our friends, family, and those in the greater climbing community who shared our campaign or donated; we truly could not have done this without every one of you.

Thank you again for helping us get this team up and running. Follow us on instagram @pitt_climbingteam and like us on Facebook at Pitt Climbing Team for updates on our season! And if you are feeling extra generous, you are still able to donate to our campaign through this link http://pi.tt/climb18

3 Days Left!

December 03, 2018

Only 3 days left in our fundraiser! We are so close to reaching our goal and are asking for your help in getting us that final push! If you have a few more dollars to give to this team or willing to share our campaign on social media, we would more than appreciate it. All the money donated will go towards funding competitions and keeping them free for our members.

This weekend was our final competition of the season. We climbed against some very strong climbers out in Philly, some of which we watched compete in a national cup event this fall in Pittsburgh, but we held our own! This competition was a challenging new format for us, but we adapted well and climbed hard nonetheless, receiving two podium finishes. Sofia Leav won the advanced division and Nicole Thompson took second in the intermediate division!

We’d like to thank the Clarke family for housing us, feeding us and letting us play with their dog, and all the family and friends who came to watch us climb! A good time was had by all, and we are excited to keep up the momentum in the spring!

9 days left!

November 26, 2018

This thanksgiving we are thankful for all of our supporters who helped us reach 85% of our goal! We are so close! The amount we have raised so far is incredible and will help us be successful in the spring. With only 9 days left, we need a final push to reach our goal. There are only a few weeks left in the semester, and we are looking forward to our last competition this weekend in Philadelphia and our last two weeks of practice. We have seen a lot of growth this semester, individually and as a team. We are excited to go into the spring competitive season having learned a lot and prepared to win some competitions!

2 Weeks Down, 2 to Go!

November 20, 2018

Officially 2 weeks into our campaign, we are continuing to succeed in competition! With our friends and family supporting us through this campaign, the Pitt Climbing Team looked strong at the Rock Candy Classic in Akron, OH. We left with three podium finishes! David Garrambone took second overall for the men and Caroline Brody took first overall for the women. These two are freshman, promising the Pitt Climbing Team a bright future! If you want to learn more about our competitions and our team, check out our Facebook page (Pitt Climbing Team) and our Instagram (@pitt_climbingteam).

With 2 weeks left in our campaign we are thankful for everyone who has donated so far and helped us reach 64% of our goal!
