End of Campaign!

On behalf of the residential and hybrid DPT class of 2023, we would like to thank our faculty, family, and friends for supporting us in raising $2,335! These funds are going to be put towards good use in assisting covering the cost of attending CSM next month in San Diego!

Our cohort is excited to be able to represent University of Pittsburgh at CSM, as well as be able to learn from experts in our field and collaborate with other physical therapy students! This opportunity for our students would not have been possible without your kind and generous support throughout our campaign!

Hello again everyone! 

Thank you so much for all of your help reaching 46% of our goal! With CSM being only about a month away, these funds will be able to help our students offset some of the cost of attending the conference. This would not have been possible without you and for that we are extremely appreciative!

Happy New Year! We wanted to thank you all so much for your efforts and support so far! We are approaching the end of our campaign, and with only 6 days left in our campaign we still need YOUR help to reach our goal of $5,000. If possible, please share our campaign with your networks. Our cohort will be completing our terminal clinicals very soon and this will be our last opportunity to attend the CSM conference as students as well as be able to take advantage of applying what we learned in our clinical experiences.

Our Vice President, Mae Cody, shares a little about how exciting it is to be attending CSM as a student this year!

"My name is Mae and I’m from a suburb of Chicago. I chose PT because I love problem-solving and getting to know people, and as a lifelong dancer I’m thrilled to help people move their bodies! CSM is really exciting to me because I’ll be able to meet other PTs and PT students and get some inspiration for treating my patients as I move into my terminal clinical rotations here at Pitt. Having some San Diego sun in February is a huge bonus!"

Mae, pictured top right, along with other members of our cohort recently had the opportunity to participate in pro bono services at our local Birmingham Free Clinic in Pittsburgh!

Hello Everyone! With the holiday season among us, Pitt DPT wanted to wish everyone a very safe and joyful holiday season and upcoming New Year! An update from us: we have completed our finals for our fall semester and will head into our last year as DPT students when we return from winter break!

To further discuss how important CSM and the PT program is, below we have a feature of a member of our cohort, Emma Cemalovic:

"As I reflect on my time as a DPT student so far, I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities Pitt has provided that I have been able to be a part of. Whether that be during my clinical experiences within UPMC facilities, or participating at the Birmingham Free Clinic providing pro bono services! Being a part of this cohort has been extremely rewarding as we have created a small community that wants to support and help each other be the best clinicians we can be. With terminal clinical experience approaching, I know we all are looking to be as prepared as possible which is where CSM comes in! CSM is an incredible opportunity that our cohort has the chance to attend to be up to date on the most current information in clinical practice! Not to mention the endless networking opportunities that CSM creates! Pitt has always been involved with CSM and we want to be able to continue the tradition and provide support for our cohort to attend as well!"

We are still working to reach our total goal of $5000 by January 9th! With only 17 days left of our campaign, we hope to receive the continuous outstanding support from you all!

A HUGE thank you from all of us to our first 11 donors who have helped our students reach 37% of our fundraising goal! Your generosity has helped our students come one step closer to funding their trip to the annual APTA Combined Sections Meeting! Thank you so much for your continued participation in spreading awareness for our campaign as well. We are making progress thus far, but we still need YOUR help to reach our goal of $5,000! CSM is an incredibly valuable opportunity to attend as a student, as we are able to learn the most up-to-date information from world-renowned leaders in the field and also have the opportunity to network!
