Our Crowdfunding Groups
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your donations to Pitt Dance Marathon through this campaign. With your help, we’ve been able to begin talking about projects outside of the day of dance marathon itself that we’re able to fund! The primary one is Run For The Kids- a brand new partnership with Team Children’s at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation for the 2018 Dicks Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. If you’d like to learn more about joining our marathon team (including the full marathon, half and 5k), please email pdmvpd@pitt.edu. Anyone who has legs is welcome, even if you are not a student!
Pitt Dance Marathon is also committed to being a more sustainable and environmentally friendly organization- in addition to helping fund Run For The Kids, your donation will be going towards our efforts to use only compostable materials at events throughout the year. These materials are funded for the day of dance marathon by the university, but outside of that it’s our job to purchase them. With your donation, we will be able to finish getting all of the materials needed to make our annual pancake breakfast (to be held February 18th, 2018) fully environmentally friendly.

Again, Pitt Dance Marathon couldn’t do what it does, or be what it is, without your support. When you donate to Pitt Dance Marathon, you donate to something even bigger than supporting the families and kids receiving care at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, you donate to the largest student run philanthropy at the University of Pittsburgh. Dance Marathon has changed my life, even though I was never treated in a Children’s Hospital. I know this is the case for countless other students at Pitt.

Hey this is Kaleigh from PDM here and I just wanted to share some updates with you! Overall this has been a fantastic start to the school year for Pitt Dance Marathon. We had over 70 people apply to be new members in our organization- triple what we had last year! On our registration push day in celebration of Child Health Day on October 2nd, more than 300 students pledged to use this year to stand for the kids by raising funds and awareness for CHP.
We’ve already raised over $400 for our operating budget but we aren’t done yet! Please help us get to our goal of raising at least $1,000 by the end of the week. I know we can do it! These funds will go directly towards funding our special events, providing hospitality items for our Miracle Families and incentives for our donors!

From college students to elementary school kids, everyone loves stickers. Your $35 gift will purchase all of the stickers that PDM needs for the year, making certain that our new logo is well known across campus.
Have you ever seen us out on the streets- canning rain or shine? A $50 gift will ensure that we can print and laminate new canning signs (and purchase swanky new cans!) that will both educate the public about our cause and withstand the Pittsburgh winter!
With the decline of snail mail in recent years, it’s a sweet treat to get a personal note delivered to your front door. With your gift of $100, you will pay for all of our donor thank you cards and incentives- we couldn’t do it without you!
Studies are showing Snapchat as the social media of choice for young people now-a-days- a gift of $250 ensures that our Snapchat game remains strong and we can get that far reaching filter coverage for all our important events.
In an effort to make PDM more of a year-long effort, we’ve got a few more special events on the table for this year! $500 ensures that we can successfully put on all of the new events (as well as continue our tried and true ones), to raise more funds and awareness for the kids!
The show must go on! Your gift of $1,000 will ensure that our annual Children’s Fashion show is able to continue this year by helping pay for a venue and even potentially being able to pay for a new outfit for our kiddos to wear on stage!
